I love her...

"you have headache?"

I know you all may not think this was as cute as I did, but I had to share anyway...

Yesterday morning I desperately needed to get my eyebrows waxed and Ada wanted to go with me. So her and I left daddy & Lani at home for a few. This was the first time I had brought Ada with me, so she was a little shy when we walked in. We went back to the room where they do the waxing and I laid down on the table. Ada looked a little confused, so I told her to just stand next to the bed, be good, and that it would only be a few minutes and we would go home. Once Mia (the waxer) started waxing, Ada came over and grabbed my hand saying "I hold your hand, its ok mommy". It was so sweet! So until Mia finished, my sweet baby girl was comforting me by rubbing the top of my hand as she held it. Then when I got up, she looked at me with a really funny face. And me being as pale as I am, I usually turn bright RED around the eyebrows after being waxed. So I asked Ada if I looked silly, she put her hand up to her forehead and said "yeah mommy, you have headache?" Mia and I started cracking up! I love having a two year old!!! =)

tRicK-Or-tReAt

We had a wonderful halloween this year! This was the first year that Victor & Leilani got to come trick-or-treating with us and we were happy to have Great Grandma Pat here to enjoy it with us also.

Leilani was a scary vampire and Ada was the cutest monkey EVER! The girls had so much fun going door to door getting more & more candy. I think Adalynn finally understood what halloween was all about this year. The first couple of houses we went to were our neighbors that she knows and as soon as we started walking up to houses she didnt know, she tells me "no, I'm fine mommy. I wanna go home." And she said that for the next few houses until she realized she got more candy at each house. Then when she went up to the doors, as they were putting candy into her bag she was reaching up into their bowl to grab more for herself. She made me laugh! It was a good night...

This was Britt's pumpkin.

Grandpa's pumpkin.

and our family pumpkin (Luis gutted it and I carved it in about 20 minutes before we picked up Victor & Lani and while Ada was taking a much needed nap!)

The girls

and Ada & her friend Robbie.

$ Money-Money-Money $

Adalynn has become quite fond of $$ money $$ lately - learning early, I guess?!?! If I had a dollar for everytime I hear "gimme money".... Ada would be rich!!
We were at her uncle Leo's house and she kept coming and telling me "gimme money" (which I was already used to since she started it a few days prior) and I kept telling her "mommy is out of money". Her uncle over heard her a few times and eventually said "here I have a bowl of change on the counter, I'll give her some change". So he called Ada over and offered her a few coins, Ada looked past the few coins he was offering her and dug both her hands into the bowl grabbing as many coins as she could! She said thank you and ran away. =) Once she had filled her pockets, she realized her hands were empty and came back to her uncle.... "gimme money". It was funny!

She now has to carry a purse with her everywhere she goes to hold her money. And last night at the grocery store, she kept telling me "I wanna pay".

Sometimes she's a little more specifc... on Saturday she told me "gimme a hunnerd dollars mommy".... What?!?! My response was "mommy wants a hundred dollars too!!"

I'm not sure how, but she even knows which bills cost more (hence asking for a hundred dollars).... She can usually sucker daddy into giving her pretty much EVERYTHING. So when she asks him, he pulls out some $1 bills and hands them to her... she throws them on the ground and points to the highest bill in his hand and says "I want that one". LOL

Where does she learn this stuff?????

Smarty pants...

Well besides the temper tantrums, Adalynn is way too smart already! She cracks me up with her stories and she has such an imagination. The other day I caught her in the bedroom reaching for the baby powder. When I asked her what she was doing she said she needed the baby powder. I asked her why and she told me "uhcuz Sassy's butt hurts" - so she needed the powder to put on Roxi's (our dog) bum. It was too funny!

She also does this thing where she grabs my face and twists her head while she's trying to kiss me... she's been doing it for a while (I call it her movie star kiss). Well Luis asked her the other day where she learned it... she said "ummmmmm, a guy". Of course, typical daddy response... "WHAT GUY?!?!?!" I'm not sure which was more funny, the fact that Adalynn said something so cute when it couldn't be further from the truth or how pissed daddy got at his 2 year old daughter like he actually believed she learned it from "a guy". LOL

She has started calling us by our real names and I'm not a big fan of it. She hears Leilani call me Carissa, so Adalynn now calls me "kissa". I usually give her the look and right away she'll say "mommy... kissa". I guess that's a little better.

She has become a HUGE fan of Spongebob Square Pants and I cant stand it!!! I think that is one of the worst kid shows out there and of course it has to be her favorite! Ugh.... so annoying!

We just got her Halloween costume and she is absolutely adorable in it!! I can't wait to get pictures!! She was a little cranky the night we got it and wouldn't let us get any cute pictures, but as soon as I get em... I'll post!!

Ta Ta for now.....

To punish or not to punish....

So, Adalynn has been exceptionally moody lately and I am beginning to wonder if maybe THIS is the terrible twos??? I thought life was rough before.... ha! If she doesn't get her way, she screams at the top of her lungs. It's a little frustrating especially since "time-out" isn't exactly helping any. Now she just screams the whole time she's in time-out.... so who's winning??? I read an article that says you shouldn't put your child in time-out (or punish them) that often - instead you are supposed to compliment her on how good she's doing. SO... when my daughter throws herself on the floor, screams at the top of her lungs because I told her she couldn't have candy for dinner - I am supposed to tell her how wonderful her voice sounds or how graciously she throws herself on the floor, right? Geez - what do those people know anyway?
